Frontiers is an open science platform, the 3rd most-cited and 6th largest research publisher.

Ass.-Prof. Dr. Sepideh Hatamikia (Head of Computational Imaging, in the research group Area Medical Image Analysis & Artificial Intelligence (MIAAI) at the Danube Private University and ACMIT researcher),  Dr. Gunpreet Oberoi (researcher at ACMIT and postdoctoral researcher at the Medical University of Vienna) and Dr. Andrea Lorenz (senior researcher at ACMIT) have been elected for topic editors of the journal “Frontiers in Medical Technology”. The scientists defined a highly current research issue entitled “3D Bioprinting and Future of Medical Imaging Phantoms”.

Medical imaging phantoms are extensively used for diagnostic imaging, validation of surgical and radiation oncology procedures. The topic editors’ aim of the call for research contributions is that application-oriented anatomical models will incorporate not only imaging properties, but also more biological realism through the development of 3D bioprinting technologies and materials.

Congratulations on this achievement!
