This public database was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy in 2016 and is aimed at listing research infrastructures which may be shared among different research facilities.
„Our database for research infrastructure shows how innovations can be supported and resources can be bundled. […] Universities, companies and non-university research facilities can mutually acquire usage periods for special devices and therefore complement each other through their research infrastructure. Thus, new cooperations and research projects develop.”, says Mitterlehner, Federal Minister of Science, Research and Economy.
The mentioned features and the additionally created „map of infrastructures“, which facilitates the search at a specific location, are a pioneering project in the EU.
