Dr. Sepideh Hatamikia won the Innovation Award 2021/2022 in the category “Innovations in the fields of materials, surfaces, tribology, sensors and medical technology” granted by Technopol, Wiener Neustadt.
The project titled “Customized 3D imaging – collision avoidance in CBCT for interventional imaging” was the core element of her PhD thesis under supervision of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Birkfellner and Dr. Gernot Kronreif. It was funded by the Austrian Center for Medical Innovation and Technology (ACMIT).
In this project, a new algorithm for computing personalized trajectories for CBCT imaging was developed. This paves the way for the next generation of the CBCT devices.
