The workshop “Translational Challenges of Soft Robotics in Medical Applications” was organized on 15th March by Arianna Menciassi and Linda Paternò from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, and Gernot Kronreif from ACMIT as part of the ERF 2024 conference, in Rimini, Italy.

The event explored innovative approaches in soft robotics and addressed the obstacles impeding the translation of these technologies into the market.

The contributions of the distinguished speakers: Laura Margheri from Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Zbigniew Nawrat from the Foundation of Cardiac Surgery Development, Eric Acome from Artimus Robotics, Vito Cacucciolo from Omnigrasp and Politecnico di Bari, and Elena De Momi from Politecnico di Milano enriched the discussions and offered valuable perspectives on the future of soft robotics.

This workshop was supported by the EU Horizon funded Project MAPWORMS – Mimicking Adaptation and Plasticity in WORMS.
