The Innovation Award 2022/2023 was presented for the sixth time at Technopol Wiener Neustadt on 29 March 2023. The prizes are awarded in four categories by a specialist jury. Laszlo Jaksa and his team from ACMIT were chosen as the winners in the category “Medicine, Medical Technology, Medical Innovations” with the project: “Simultaneous liquid and filament 3D-printing for anatomic models and medical devices”.
In the medical field, anatomical models are becoming increasingly important. They are used in the training of medical staff or in the preparation of complex operations. The project combines the advantages of two different 3D printing processes, involving thermoplastic polymers and silicone rubbers. The improved models open new application possibilities.
