News scientific partnership with Initium Venture Labs Ltd.

ACMIT’s long-term scientific partner, the Óbuda University recently established an exclusive technology transfer company, the Initium Venture Labs Ltd.

The foundation of the Initium Venture Labs Ltd. and an Innovation Committee fast-tracking the exploitation of engineering results was announced at a ceremonial event held in mid-July, 2024 at the Museum of Fine Arts, in Budapest, Hungary.

Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, the newly reappointed rector of the Óbuda University introduced the leaders of the university company and the committee members. He stated the goals of his new term as realizing and harnessing excellent innovations, acquiring sustainable projects, and positioning Óbuda University as a key player in the Central-Eastern European region in areas such as deep tech, artificial intelligence, medtech, fintech, and renewable energy.

The CEO of Initium Venture Labs Ltd. is Prof. Dr. Tamás Haidegger, who is currently professor at Óbuda University, the distinguished consolidator researcher of the University Research and Innovation Center, the leader of medical robotics research at the Antal Bejczy iRob Intelligent Robotics Centre and Research Area Manager at ACMIT.

Prof. Haidegger stated that the technology transfer company, established with support from the Hungarian National Innovation Agency, aims to facilitate the transformation of academic research and innovation into tangible products, services, and processes. He affirmed his commitment, along with his team, to strengthening the connections between academic research and industrial applications and to identifying and leveraging shared values.
