The Lower Austrian Research Festival 2022, “Forschungsfest Niederösterreich 2022”, will take place on September 30th, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., in the Palais Niederösterreich, Vienna (Herrengasse 13). Research enthusiasts of all ages are invited to gain insight into current research in a wide range of various development areas with free admission. In direct contact with R&D experts, „burning“ questions can be answered, interesting experiments observed and the latest developments even tried out first hand.
This year, ACMIT is exhibiting a modern virtual reality system that can be used for medical education and training to improve anatomical knowledge through virtual investigations and 3D inspections in parallel to conventional training (e.g. dissection courses). Thanks to the previously 3D scanned and digitally stored models of biological organ preparations these samples do not have an expiry date and can therefore be repeatedly examined anytime later.
With the help of VR glasses visitors can virtually investigate the photorealistic scans of human anatomy in 3D space, such as brain or skull. Using a hand-held control device, it is possible to virtually grasp the models and move them freely around to inspect from all sides.
