We are excited to announce the presentation of our EIC Transition project ROBIOPSY at the Future Tech Week 2026 (FTW26). The FTW26 is a Europe-wide online event showcasing cutting-edge deep-tech research and innovation. It brings together researchers, innovators, and industry to share breakthroughs and foster collaboration within EIC and EIT communities.
In the framework of the event, Prof. Paolo Fiorini (Department of Computer Science, ALTAIR Robotics Lab, University of Verona (UNIVR)), will deliver a brief seminar on the project, highlighting its innovative approach to robotic-assisted percutaneous procedures within the framework of EIC/EIT activities.
The ROBIOPSY project is about the development of an AI-assisted robotic system to improve precision in prostate cancer biopsies by combining image fusion and automated needle positioning. It aims to deliver a prototype and validate its effectiveness through multicenter studies and health-economic assessments across Europe. Within the ROBIOPSY project, ACMIT is a key partner and is responsible for implementing the robotic system into a regulatory-compliant, approval-ready solution, ensuring its readiness for clinical application.
