ACMIT is an internationally active research center and stands for the development of new technologies and processes in the field of medical technology up to clinical application. We develop new solutions from the idea to the production-ready product including approval and also take on manufacturing orders for small series.
ACMIT is providing a PhD scholarship and invites applications for a three-year PhD student in the field of medical imaging. The doctoral student is expected to pursue a PhD at Medical University of Vienna, Center of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering and will be also a member of the Medical Image Analysis and Artificial Intelligence (MIAAI) group at the Danube Private University as part of the computational imaging research team.
The goal of the PhD project is to develop computational methods to optimize Cone Beam CT (CBCT) imaging using numerical algorithms. The main application would focus on CBCT image reconstruction and its optimization for dental CBCT imaging.
Your ideal profile:
- Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Vision or related fields
- Background in Medical Image Analysis/Processing
- Programming skills (e.g., Matlab, C++, CUDA, Python)
- Some knowledge in the field of CT/CBCT image reconstruction is advantageous
The PhD shall start in September 2022.
