Peter completed his Master\u2019s thesis with ACMIT in the field of neurosurgical robotics and deep brain stimulation (DBS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 2024 to 2026, Peter simultaneously pursued two full Master\u2019s degrees through a special <strong>Double Degree program<\/strong> at the <strong>FH Technikum Wien (for \u201cMedical Engineering &amp; eHealth\u201d)<\/strong> and the <strong>Brno University of Technology (for \u201cBioengineering\u201d)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His thesis focused on the prototypical adaptation of the AutoGuide neurosurgical robot system for electrode placement in DBS therapy. The work encompassed the entire process of a feasibility study \u2014 from concept development and prototype manufacturing to preclinical evaluation. The project was supervised by <strong>Dr. Gernot Kronreif, CSO of ACMIT<\/strong>, and <strong>Wolfgang Ptacek, Head of the Robotics Group at ACMIT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results of Peter\u2019s work were rated as highly promising by the participating clinicians and led to an overall grade of \u201cpassed with distinction\u201d as well as a \u201cvery good\u201d final examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are proud to have supported Peter on this journey and look forward to seeing the impact of his future work in the medtech field.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ACMIT proudly congratulates Peter Koppensteiner on graduating with honors from a Double Degree Master\u2019s program.
