During a two-day MAPWORMS<\/a> workshop in Pontedera (Italy)<\/strong>, the ACMIT team<\/strong>, together with colleagues from Scuola Superiore Sant\u2019Anna (SSSA)<\/strong>, <\/a>successfully performed the first-ever tests of newly developed magnetised scanning tools in a realistic experimental environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experiments made use of the OctoMag magnetic actuation system<\/strong>, as well as a dedicated optical sensing device developed by ACMIT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SSSA magnetic system, equipped with eight high\u2011performance magnetic coils, enables the generation of complex, time\u2011varying magnetic fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using this advanced setup, the teams carried out a series of measurements \u2014 with very promising results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building on these encouraging first tests, further investigations are now underway, focusing on optimising scanning efficiency and improving the quality of the sensor data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
