Consistent with the lines of this year’s theme “Boosting the Synergies between Robotics and AI for a stronger Europe”, the event will bring together leading experts from science and industry at an international level with the presence of the major European companies in the field of robotics. Keynotes, workshops, and several side events such as B2B matchmaking make up a large part of the wide-ranging program.

The workshop session #15 entitled “Bringing Soft Robotics to Application” will be organized by Linda Paternò (The BioRobotics Institute of Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies), Florian Hartmann (Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems) and Gernot Kronreif (ACMIT) at 2 p.m. on 26th March, in Room 14-16 as part of the prestigious ERF 2025 event.

This workshop aims to explore the scientific advancements and the challenges of bringing soft robotics to various applications, including rehabilitation, haptics, and surgery.

The demand for compliant machines capable of safely interacting with the human body is growing across various applications. To meet this need, significant research in robotics has focused on developing new classes of devices through the soft robotics approach. However, despite extensive efforts in recent years, the commercialization of these systems remains absent. Therefore, further research is required to develop soft robots that are both effective and durable enough for successful market translation.

For more information, please visit:

ERF 2025

ERF 2025 programme

The European Robotics Forum 2025 (ERF 2025) will take place from March 25 to 27, 2025 in Stuttgart’s Liederhalle, in Germany.
