Dr. Ankita Nachankar (Radiation Oncologist at EBG MedAustron GmbH and Postdoctoral Researcher at ACMIT) <\/strong>received the \u00d6GRO-Abstract Prize<\/strong> at the \u00d6GRO 2023, 40th annual meeting<\/strong> on the 13th<\/sup> Oct. in Vienna, by the Austrian Society for Radiation Oncology, Radiobiology and Medical Radiophysics (\u00d6GRO).<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study entitled by Dr. Nachankar<\/strong>: \u201cRetrospective evaluation of LET distribution in carbon-ion radiotherapy for pelvic sarcomas and LET optimization by blocking method: the MedAustron approach\u201d<\/strong> focuses LET optimization by a blocking method in pelvic sarcomas. This study was recently published in the Cancers<\/em> journal (mdpi): Cancers 2023, 15(19), 4903;<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is a part of the COMET Module \u201cSurgical Data for Optimized Therapy\u201d (SD-OpT)<\/strong> by ACMIT<\/strong>, representing ACMIT\u2019s research areas<\/strong>, such as sensor-integrated, patient-specific planning tools, or medical IoT, providing an ideal base for the field of \u201cSurgical Data Science\u201d (SDS) with current trend towards \u201cDigitalized Medicine\u201d and \u201cSurgery 4.0\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
