ACMIT<\/strong>\u2019s long-term scientific partner and employee, Dr. Tam\u00e1s Haidegger<\/strong> has been appointed full professor<\/strong> by the President of Hungary, Katalin Nov\u00e1k<\/strong>, together with nine other lecturers at \u00d3buda University, in Budapest, Hungary<\/strong>. The ceremony took place in the S\u00e1ndor Palace<\/strong>, in the capital city of Hungary on 5th September 2023<\/strong>.  In addition to the habilitation and long teaching experience, an outstanding, scientific achievement are also required to hold the title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Dr. Tam\u00e1s Haidegger’s main research areas are surgical robotics, teleoperation, image-guided therapy in the field of medical technology.<\/strong> He is currently professor at \u00d3buda University, the director of the University Research and Innovation Center and the technical leader of medical robotics research at the Antal Bejczy iRob Intelligent Robotics Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Haidegger<\/strong> is the research area manager of \u201cTherapy Planning and Workflow Support\u201d<\/a> at ACMIT<\/strong>. This research area is dealing with new methods for planning of treatment in the pre-operative phase as well as with different aspects of workflow support for surgical procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an active member of IEEE Robotics an Automation Society, IEEE SMC, IEEE EMBC and euRobotics aisbl, Prof. Haidegger is a national delegate of the ISO \/ IEC standards committee. According to the Hungarian Science Bibliography, he belongs to the D1 (top 10%) researchers by age group in Hungary. He is a two-time Bolyai Award-winning researcher, he received the Bolyai Plaque of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences for excellent research in 2017 and he also won the Bolyai+ scholarship twice. In 2022, he was listed as one of the top 2 percent researchers in the world published by Stanford University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Haidegger<\/strong> is furthermore the co-founder of the longtime ACMIT company partner, the HandinScan Zrt.<\/strong>, focusing on the development of Semmelweis Hand Hygiene System<\/a><\/strong> for objective hand hygiene control in the medical environment. ACMIT contributed the product development and the prototyping in this joint project.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
